Writing Task 1 Revision – Describing Features in the Future
When describing graphs and diagrams in the Writing Task 1 section, you may see time periods of the future. In this article, I would like to introduce a number of sentence structures which you can apply to describe features of graphs and diagrams in the future.

Example: In 2040, a quarter of the population in Sweden (25%) is going to be of age 65 and older.
Will …
Example: About 27% of the Japanese population will be aged 65 or over by the year of 2040.
Be forecast to …
By 2040, about 23% of the US population is forecast to be 65 years old or over.

Be predicted to …
Example: In 2030, the consumption of petrol and oil in the US is predicted to reach 48 quadrillion units.
Be expected to …
Example: By the year of 2030, the US is expected to consume a total of 5 quadrillion units of solar/wind power.
