Writing Task 1 Revision – Structuring Your Essay Logically and Wisely
In this article, I would like to introduce 3 tips that will help you better structure your Writing Task 1 essay.
1. Be aware of the time limit:
Remember that you have to write at least 150 words in a desirable length of 20 minutes. An essay structure with 10 paragraphs will not be an ideal choice.
2. Build an appropriate number of paragraphs:
If there is a graph with 3 lines, then you should write in total 5 paragraphs, including an introduction, 3 body content paragraphs and a conclusion. Some candidates find it useful to spend a separate paragraph making evaluation and comparisons.
3. Place the paragraphs in a logical order:
There is no fixed way how you must order paragraphs in your Writing Task 1 essay. However, you should do it logically. For example, writing 1 sentence about line A in the first paragraph, and then writing 1 to 2 sentences about line A again in the second and third paragraph, is something to avoid.
