Sample Essay:

The line graph shows the number of people suffering from five chronic non-communicable diseases (CND) in a country from 2007 to 2011.

In 2007, CVD was the most popular CND, affecting about 3,500 patients. This figure was followed by Cancer (about 1,500 cases) and Diabetes, COPD and Kidney (each affecting less than 1,000 cases). The number of Diabetes cases continued to rise and reached its peak of nearly 4,000 in 2009, surpassing that of CVD cases (around 3,300), Cancer cases (approximately 2,000), and COPD as well as Kidney cases (about 500 each).

In 2011, the number of people experiencing CVD stood at 4,000, making it the dominant CND again. Furthermore, while the number of Diabetes patients sharply declined from 4,000 in 2009 to just above 1,000 in 2011, the opposite was true of the number of Cancer patients which slightly grew to just more than 2,000 in 2011.

The graph also shows that from 2007 to 2011, the number of COPD and Kidney cases had never surpassed 1,000 and remained the least suffered diseases in the country.
