Tip #3: The “Not only … but also” structure

Tip #4: The “Unlike…” structure


Original sentence: Unlike American people, the culture of Japan is group-oriented and risk-averse.


Improved sentence: Unlike the culture of America, the culture of Japan is group-oriented and risk-averse.



Tip #5: The “Such as…” structure


Original sentence: Many countries are developing their own COVID-19 vaccines, such as Russia and China.


Improved sentence: Many countries, such as Russia and China, are developing their own COVID-19 vaccines.



Tip #6: The “As a…” structure


Original sentence: As a teaching assistant, my responsibilities include monitoring class attendance, tracking students’ progress and organizing final exams.
